Running a successful convenience store loyalty program means rewarding customers for the products that matter most to your business — and that starts with accurate, well-organized product segments. If you manage a gas station loyalty program or a broader fuel loyalty program, you already know that your pricebook is the source of truth for everything on your shelves and at the pump. The Pricebook Converter Tool in the Fuel Me platform bridges the gap between that raw pricebook data and a live, actionable product segment — in just a few minutes, with no manual data entry required.
Log in to your Fuel Me dashboard and go to Segments → Products. This is the control center for all of your loyalty program product segments — the building blocks that determine which items qualify for points, discounts, or bonus rewards.
Open your existing pricebook in Google Sheets and locate the column containing your UPC values — these appear as pipe-separated strings. This column is what the platform uses to identify and match products across your store locations.
Select the entire UPC column including the header row and copy it. Including every row ensures your product segment is complete — missing UPCs mean those items are excluded from loyalty rewards.
Open a blank Google Sheet and use Paste Special → Values Only. This strips out formulas and formatting quirks from the original pricebook, giving you clean, upload-ready data.
Go to File → Download → Comma-Separated Values (.csv). This CSV is now a properly formatted input file ready to be uploaded directly into the platform.
Back in the Fuel Me dashboard, click the + button on the Product Segments page to open the segment creation workflow.
Select Upload a File, attach your CSV, and click Upload File. The platform parses the UPC values and builds your product segment from your existing pricebook data — the same data your POS already uses, so there is no risk of mismatched SKUs.
A confirmation prompt will appear — click Okay. Your product segment is now live and available to attach to any loyalty campaign or reward structure in your pricebook converter loyalty rewards workflow.
Product segments are the engine underneath a high-performing fuel loyalty program. The Pricebook Converter Tool lets you use the pricebook you already maintain rather than building product lists from scratch. For operators running a gas station loyalty program across multiple locations, one CSV upload populates a segment that applies consistently across every site. If you are getting started with a convenience store loyalty program or refining an existing one, mastering product segments through the Pricebook Converter Tool is one of the highest-leverage steps you can take.
